There has been, all through time, various definitions of love. In dictionary.com there are 21 definitions and 8
variations of the word love such as "in love with". For this page I'll use definition 12 which is "the benevolent
affection of God for His creatures, or the reverent affection due from them to God.
When Adam and Eve disobeyed the rules in not eating the tree of knowledge of good and evil (ok Eve started it, but you
finished it too!) God knew that He had to do something to restore His relations with man and woman. See, God is holy
and without sin or evil. When He created Adam and Eve, they were like that too, and they could commune with God without
fear of spiritual death. However, once the disobedience was done, they became as a suspect who is convicted of a crime.
They had to pay for their disobedience to the rules. So they were stripped of their perfections-disease and death became
attached to their lives, and instead of the earth taking care of them, they had to take care of the earth by the sweat of
their brows (or work for their living). Euphoric living became dog eat dog with hate, murder, lust, envy, greed-need I say
more? The final disappointment in God's heart was that He had to condemn His beautiful creation to the world-just as
a convicted person goes to prison. Yep. Once Adam and Even disobeyed, the Earth also became part of the polluted and
sinful nature of things.
Now, do you see the man in the above picture? His name is Yeshua, or Jesus in the Greek translation. A little more
than 2,000 years ago, this man was born from a miracle (it's true). It was prophesied that a virgin would become pregnant
(look with your heart, not your physical eyes) and she would be giving birth to the Lamb of God. What that means, is
that to have any kind of relations with mankind, God wanted certain types of shedding of the blood of certain specified animals.
Well that still wasn't enough to bring God and man into the original relation that He had, and He longed for this. So
He decided that He had better do it Himself.
Jesus took our place 2,000 years ago, to be executed for crimes against God. Of course there's one problem with
this. He didn't commit disobediences,or sins!!!! A sinless man went to the cross (the popular execution method that
the Roman empire used at that time) for sinful mankind. Somehow we sin each and every day of our lives-whether it's
by committing murder, or just gossipping about each other behind our backs, it's sin. Even smoking, chewing, over-eating
and drinking to excess are sins. Why? They hurt our physical bodies and speed up death, and maybe an early
death isn't in our plans of life that God made for us.
There's a verse in the New Testament of the Holy Bible, that's quite popular with Christian people in the entire world.
It's John 3:16. It says that "God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes on
Him should not see death but have everlasting life." Now you know the rest of the story. A sinless man went
to the cross (remember-the popular method of execution 2,000 years ago) as our scapegoat. He didn't have to, He
could have said no at the very last moment, but He chose not to disobey God which is something Adam and Eve couldn't
do. Now when we accept that this is what Jesus did for us personally, and accept that His perfect blood washes our
spirits clean then we not only get our names in His guestbook, but we also get to commune again with God the way it used
to be before Adam and Eve sinned. God gets mankind back through His Son Jesus. But the stipulation is that
we have to believe with our hearts and confess with our voices. What will you do?

If you're still without understanding of the beautiful Gospel of Jesus, then try http://www.gospelofjohnthefilm.com/ . It was given to me by my son, as a Christmas gift. It will make things clear as to how important
the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus are to our lives. Things on the earth are preparing to get worse
for mankind and all of the other creations of God, so time is of the utmost importance. Jesus has to be accepted to
avoid the catastrophies that are coming. It's up to all of us to do this.
